OUR STORY AND HISTORY 

To keep everything honest and above board, here's the story and history of www.weddingtoledo.com.  My name is Mark Simon.  I own this site.  I bought this site name and several others with the idea of building a site that promoted the best wedding professionals in the Toledo area.  It seems that every time Circuit City has a sale, another DJ, videography, and/or photography business opens up.  Unfortunately, that ruins the reputation of those of us who have been in the wedding service business as long as I have.  I DJd my first wedding in June, 1987.

Yes, I also own SIHASI Sounds & Images.  I am also ordained and licensed in the State of Ohio to sanction wedding ceremonies.

Sometime in mid 2007, I was contacted by a recent bride who decided to become a bridal consultant.  I had DJd her wedding and was willing to help her with her new venture.  I agreed to give her the www.weddingtoledo.com name to use.  Since I was paying for the name and the hosting, I wanted prime recognition on the site.  She was going to build a site of wedding professionals that she could make commission on by selling their services.  Shortly after this started, she took a full-time position with a local reception hall.  She decided not to pursue the consulting idea, and no longer had time for the site.

With the site already created, I contacted a few other area wedding professionals for advice on what to do with the site.  What we ended up with was a site that Toledo area wedding professionals could be listed on for FREE.  I do NOT charge anyone to be on the site.  I also allow those who compete directly with my business to be listed on the site.  Good competition creates honesty and integrity.  This is a good way to promote the best area wedding professionals who meet the criteria listed on our home page.  Non professionals or those just starting out will not be listed on this site.  Those on the site will be consulted about others who want to be on the site.  This should help assure that the professionals listed are some of the best in the area.

We will not be able to list everyone.  I want to keep the listings in the categories simple and easy to manage and read.  After all, I am NOT charging anyone to be listed here, and I am managing the site for free.

Of course, I hope that this site helps my business.  I also hope that it helps other area wedding professionals, and helps keep the local wedding business in the hands of those who know what they are doing.

This concept is not unusual.  There are other Toledo area wedding professional sites that are owned by wedding service professionals.  They promote their businesses on the sites.  If they chose to disclose or not disclose ownership of the sites, so be it.  It is easy enough to look up website ownership.

I have nothing to hide and feel it is important to tell the story of this site.  Hopefully we can offer brides, grooms, and thier families the chance to work with the best in the area, and not have to worry about those who are not professional.  I am more than willing to discuss this with anyone who wants to contact me at 419-464-9464, or emails me at weddingtoledo @gmail.com.
